Matt Cotton

Rooted’s founder, Matt Cotton, brings nearly a decade of experience growing brands through the Foodservice channel.

Matt has worked as Director of Foodservice Sales for two startups, Farmwise (acquired by B&G Foods) and Buen Sabor, helping both to turn Foodservice from scratch into strong businesses in under a year. He deepened his understanding of the industry by spearheading Foodservice sales for PGI, a 50-million-dollar company. Matt has done extensive work with most of the industry’s major distributors and management companies, and he has sales experience in nearly every Foodservice category, specializing in College & University, Business & Industry, Healthcare & Convenience.

Chris Damiata

Chris brings 10+ years of sales and support in the convenience and alternative channels.

Five years distributor experience as a top sales rep at Sysco and Core Mark.

Unlocked new distribution and secured national account business for dozens of
brands while at TCM for 5+ years.

Chris lives in Coventry CT and enjoys playing golf, fishing, camping, going for
walks at the park and throwing the ball around with his kids.

Kristi McGill

Kristi helped grow a CPG startup Balance the Superfood Shot to become a national brand.

As Director of Sales for CPG startup Balance the Superfood Shot, Kristi strategically built relationships, sales, and distribution to grow them to becoming a national brand and helped them win the Whole Foods Market Supplier of the Year award.

Kristi lives in Kansas City, MO and enjoys rock climbing, traveling, creating unique recipes and craft cocktails, and hiking new trails with her husband and kids.

Julie Mares-Henington

Launched a regional brand until the national stage as Director of Sales for a premium chocolate company. Piloted multi-channel national distribution via focused strategic relationship-building, leading to first-time category-leading growth in brand history.

Julie lives in the City of Roses, Portland OR and loves gardening, music and reading, and running and hiking with her husband and their labradoodle, Herbie.

Britt Erickson Carrel

Britt has 10+ years experience working in the CPG industry.

Britt has 10+ years experience working in the CPG industry. She has worked with both startup CPG brands, and well-known brands in sales and field marketing. Most recently she worked for a large national brokerage as an Account Manager and Client Partnership Manager in the West.

Britt lives in the Bay Area with her husband Nick, Cavalier King Charles Teddy and 3 cats. She enjoys cruising along the California coast looking for uncrowded point breaks where she can take her custom 9'3" Ashley Lloyd surfboard out. She also enjoys playing volleyball, swimming, holistic cooking, and volunteering with surf therapy programs.

Spearheaded the sales strategy and execution of paleo and baked good snack start up to help them become a national brand.

Brooke enjoys her time playing beach volleyball, reading and paddle boarding with her fur baby, Bryn.
